Oxlade-Chamberlain set to play a role in Liverpool’s run-in

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to play a role in Liverpool’s last few games of the season.

The midfielder has just recently returned from a nightmare injury that ruled him out of action for over a year.

He ruptured knee ligaments towards the end of last season after he was just finding the best form of his career for the Reds.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made his long-awaited comeback from injury as a late substitute in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield.

Klopp has now stated that Oxlade-Chamberlain could have a big role to play in the Reds’ remaining games.

Speaking during his press conference, cited by the Daily Mirror, Klopp said:

It is perfect that he is back but the intensity of the game we will see. We will use him, of course. It is very good that Ox is there and for sure he will be in the squad but we have to make a decision who starts.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to part of the matchday squad once again this weekend against Newcastle United, but it is yet to be seen if he will start the game or not.

Meanwhile, Klopp was remaining coy as to whether or not Roberto Firmino will be involved in Liverpool’s game against Newcastle on Saturday.
