Brighton forward Pascal Gross has produced quotes that are sure to endear him to Liverpool fans worldwide, ahead of the final day of the Premier League season.
The Seagulls host Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, with Pep Guardiola’s side knowing that victory will seal back-to-back Premier League titles.
Liverpool, meanwhile, welcome Wolves to Anfield, trailing City by a solitary point.
There is a general feeling that the Reds’ race is run, such is City’s brilliance and the likelihood of Brighton rolling over with nothing to play for.
Gross has a very different mindset, however, telling Kicker that he and his teammates will be giving their all, adding that Liverpool merit being Premier League champions this season:
I am a professional and I want to win every game. Klopp deserves the title because Liverpool have played on the highest level.
We will try everything to take a point against Man City.
It promises to be a tense afternoon as the league campaign reaches its conclusion, in what has been one of the most thrilling title races in history.
Whoever ends up clinching the title will be worthy champions, but the runners-up will also deserve enormous credit for their efforts this season.
