Reds set for another warm-weather training camp

Jurgen Klopp is planning take members of his Liverpool squad to Tenerife at the end of March for a warm-weather training camp even after a recent visit to La Manga failed to bear fruit.

The Reds headed to the Spanish resort last month during a two-week break from action, only to suffer another setback upon their return as they stumbled to a 3-1 defeat against struggling Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Nonetheless, with an international break scheduled for the end of the month, those not representing their country will travel to Tenerife in a repeat of a trip made last year.

With a number of big names, including the Reds’ English contingent, unavailable, the trip represents an opportunity for the youngsters to catch the manager’s eye.

Last year’s visit saw Ovie Ejaria impress Klopp, and the 19-year old has since emerged as one of the club’s most exciting prospects, making eight appearances so far this term.

Liverpool have three crucial fixtures before the break, playing host to Arsenal and Burnley before a visit to in-form Manchester City. They then return to Premier League action with the Merseyside Derby at Anfield on April 1st.
