Reds sign Allan Rodrigues de Souza

The Echo are reporting that Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Allan Rodrigues de Souza from Internacional for around £500,000.

The club’s confirmation read: “LFC have secured Allan for the future and he’s currently spending time with the Reds with the permission of his club, Internacional.”

Allan was pictured training with the first team this week and was named into the squad for the friendly in Finland against HJK Helsinki today, picking up the number 60.

Allan was put on Liverpool’s radar by scouts in the Frenz International Cup.

He joins Liverpool’s ranks of Brazillian midfielders Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva, hoping to make his transition easier.

It’s unclear if he’ll play a role in the first team this season, stay with the Under-21s or go out on loan later in the year.

Liverpool are hoping to reload their youth ranks since the promotions of (the now departed) Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe as well as Jerome Sinclair and Sheyi Ojo being on the cusps of the first team.

Allan joins fellow youth prospects Bobby Adekanye and Brooks Lennon through the doors, though neither have been with the first team this summer.
