Yesterday saw the announcement of England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
Within that announcement saw the inclusion of two of Liverpool’s most important and talented players.
Both Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were included in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.
The pair will no doubt bring quality in ability and a great mentality to the rest of the squad ahead of the tournament.
Something that Southgate has already hinted towards.
The Englishman spoke to the media after the squad announcement and was more than complimentary about Henderson.
Southgate stated that during his career, he has managed to make the impossible seem possible…
As cited by Anfield Watch above, it is a very important that Southgate takes note of Henderson’s potential impact.
The midfielder has won almost everything possible as Liverpool captain, with Premier League and Champions League glory in back-to-back seasons.
With Southgate recognising this winning ability, he could be hinting that Henderson is the man to help England win.
Of course, it would be easy for us to jump the mark and say that Southgate think Henderson will win us the Euros.
However, he clearly understands that during the midfielder’s career, he has managed to defy the odds more than once.
Whether this happens is yet to be seen, but England fans will no doubt be excited.
Seeing Henderson help guide the country to European glory would be more than exciting for the Liverpool faithful.
