Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold was announced in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.

The youngster had initially been left out of the countries World Cup Qualifiers in March.

However, a quick return to form for the Reds saw him included in the final 26-man squad for the Euros.

Unluckily for Trent, the full-back picked up a thigh injury in England’s friendly against Austria on Wednesday night.

The injury will put the 22-year-old for at least four to six weeks, leaving him out of the England squad for the tournament.

Before his injury, Trent sat down with the Daily Mirror to talk about next seasons ambitions.

In it, the defender explained how he is determined to focus on improving his game ahead of next season…

Trent may have picked up that unfortunate injury, but this hasn’t stopped him from trying to push on.

In the piece with the Mirror, the youngster explains how he has teamed up with a sports scientist named Dr. Daniel Laby.

The pair, put together by Red Bull, have been working at improving Trent’s vision and passing ability.

One thing for sure is that their hard work together has been paying off.

The last few months has seen an evident improvement in Trent’s game, hence his inclusion in the England squad.

The main aim of their work together is to improve Trent’s time between decision and action – saving time between passes.

This then allows the youngster to act faster, and be more confident in his vision and what he sees on the pitch.

Although this may sounds silly, it can actually improve the teams response whilst in possession.

By being able to evaluate a situation quicker, it allows for a quicker action in return.

This is the difference between being able to counter quickly when back in possession and taking too much time on the ball.

Hopefully, this work that Trent and Dr. Laby have been putting in will continue after his rehabilitation.
