Last night saw England face off against Austria in a friendly before the start of Euro 2020.

The Three Lions won the game 1-0, but the result was marred by an injury to one of Liverpool’s stars.

Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch after sustaining an injury in the last knockings of the game.

Things didn’t look great at first, with Trent holding his head in his hands after working incredibly hard to receive the call-up.

Gareth Southgate confirmed after the game that the 22-year-old had sustained a thigh injury.

Not only this, but Southgate also eluded that they are yet to know the severity of the injury just yet…

It is still unknown just how serious the injury is, but if Trent’s face was anything to go by, it can’t be good.

Having been dropped from the England squad in March, the full-back has done incredibly well to get himself back in.

The Euro’s starts in just 8 days time and the youngster will no doubt face a race against time to be fit.

If the injury is worse than initially feared then it is likely that Trent could miss the tournament.

It would be awful to see his summer end this way after his fantastic form over the last few months.

Despite the setbacks, Trent faced the hurdle with the right attitude and put his head down, and kept playing.

There is no doubt that Jurgen Klopp will be concerned for the youngster, with him likely waiting for an update himself.
