Now a report from newspaper A Bola (via Sport Witness) has claimed that the Anfield club will need to pay heavily in order to land the Uruguayan.
The report states that the move from Liverpool for the eight-cap ace ‘makes sense’ due to the expiring contracts and the ‘good experiences’ when signing from the league previously.
This season Nunez has scored 25 times and registered two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £28.8million and under contract until 2025 (Transfermarkt), signing the prolific frontman for the mooted €60-70million (£49.5-£57.8million) would still be a worthwhile move.
Despite a previously subdued record, Nunez is enjoying a remarkable 2021/22 campaign and appears primed to take the next step in an exciting career this summer.
Capable of operating from the left, as a centre-forward and from a deeper role, the Uruguayan star looks tailormade to replace Roberto Firmino in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
