Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has made a lightning-fast start to the new season.
The 29-year-old has already directly contributed to 10 goals in just eight appearances for the Reds as the Egyptian attempts to fire the side to yet more trophy glory.
That form has come despite ongoing contract confusion behind the scenes as the club attempt to tie down their prized asset beyond 2023.
According to a fresh report from Sunday World, as cited by Kevin Palmer on Twitter, Liverpool have made their ‘intentions clear’ regarding the winger.
The report claims that the club are ‘optimistic’ an agreement can be reached as all parties are ‘keen to work towards’ a new deal for the 69-times capped international superstar.
Following on from a 31 goal campaign in 2020/21 despite a host of injury issues within the squad, Salah has already struck eight times so far this term.

Salah is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down – if anything the opposite.
The man dubbed the ‘Egyptian King’ by Kopites, would appear to be in inspired form so far this season, a man back on the hunt for team and individual honours perhaps.
Having already notched 133 goals and provided 49 assists in 211 appearances, Liverpool fans will be hoping many more ar eyet to come, starting this afternoon against Manchester City (Sunday, October 3).
Just how far the club are prepared to stretch the budget for Salah remains to be seen, but whatever happens, this is a situation that needs resolving before much longer.
Signing a replacement, plus wages, plus the uncertainty of any new arrival would be a far greater – and more expensive risk – than tying down a proven star performer.
