Liverpool are reportedly ‘preparing’ a bid for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The 26-year-old is highly rated and has already proven to be capable of operating at the Premier League level.
Currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Phillips is believed to be on the radar at Anfield, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
According to a report from Spanish outlet El Nacional, as cited by TheKop.com on Twitter, the Reds could be considering a move for the Yorkshireman.
Liverpool are lining up a £33.4m bid for Leeds United’s England midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Klopp is a big admirer of the Leeds midfielder, who is ready to think about his long-term future at the West Yorkshire club.

The report claims that the 19-cap England man is ‘seduced’ by the prospect of a move to Merseyside and Jurgen Klopp is a ‘big fan’ of the ace.
Prior to the injury setback, Phillips – dubbed the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ – has scored once and provided one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions.
READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT
Valued at £36million and under contract at Elland Road until 2024 (Transfermarkt), signing the defensive midfielder for the mooted £33.4million would be a superb piece of business.
Boasting a range of strong attributes, Phillips would provide a hugely impressive backup option to Fabinho.
However, much of the Englishman’s strengths lie in the defensive side of the game and Klopp may be in search of a more forward-thinking midfielder.
That said, a double raid on Leeds United for the heavily linked Raphinha and Phillips would certainly strengthen the Liverpool ranks.
