Werner may move to Bayern for free despite Liverpool interest

After being constantly linked with the German striker, reports from Bild, as cited on Calcio Mercato, suggest that Timo Werner could, in fact, favour the prospect of staying in Germany.

Werner currently has one year remaining on his Leipzig contract and should he fail to sign a new deal, he could link up with Bayern Munich next summer on a free transfer.

Liverpool are keen to add reinforcements up front following the departure of experienced striker Daniel Sturridge.

Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi link up play well but haven’t always been prolific in front of goal, which may be the reason Liverpool have been linked so heavily with the striker who scored 19 goals and made 10 assists last term.

Wherever Werner moves, he will prove to be a good asset and Klopp may need to put a big deal on the table in the coming weeks to secure his services ahead of their German rivals.
