Naby Keita has been discussing his determination to succeed at Liverpool.
The midfielder has enjoyed a positive start to life at Anfield following his big-money move from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.
Keita has already established himself as an important part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans at Liverpool, featuring on a regular basis in the opening period of the new Premier League season.
However, the midfielder has again reiterated his eagerness to be a success at Liverpool. Speaking to the club’s official website, Keita outlined his goals for the future on Merseyside.
I’m the kind of person who thinks that if I score eight goals in one season my objective must be to score nine goals in the following season. That’s the kind of mentality I have. First and foremost, I should say that I’m very much a team player and I always think about the team first.
The Premier League is different to other leagues where I have played and everybody knows it is very tough, but I will do my best to beat my own personal records – I’m very motivated.
Competition for places in Klopp’s preferred three-man midfield is stiff at this stage and the gradual integration of Fabinho in the coming weeks is sure to provide Keita with yet another test.
However, following his reported £52 million switch from Leipzig, Keita has been looking sharp in his new climate and is continuing to show his credentials in a Liverpool shirt.
