Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has revealed that the Merseyside club did not tell him to leave following his howlers in the Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid, according to a report on ESPN.
Karius joined Turkish side Besiktas on a two-year loan deal during the summer and the 25-year-old has insisted that he has worked hard to get over his costly errors in May.
Liverpool’s goalkeeping situation last season was pretty shaky, with both Karius and Simon Mignolet making regular mistakes.

However, Jurgen Klopp recruited Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker for £56m from Italian Serie A side AS Roma and he has seemingly resolved the issue.
Karius said:
It was a super season with a very unfortunate end, but you must get over it. I knew that I must get up again and not hide and only concern myself with the past. It was a super team performance to just reach the final. Nobody can take that away from me. Not many German keepers can say they’ve played in a Champions League final.
Jurgen Klopp called me several times during my holidays to build me up. Nothing stands between us. He never blamed me [for the defeat]
I could have also stayed at Liverpool and played a few matches, but I wanted to be No. 1 [somewhere] and get regular game time.
Nobody told me that I must leave. It was no escape from Liverpool. I still have a good relationship with the people there.
Karius has had to show a lot of mental strength to recover from his mistakes and he believes that the more game time that he gets then it will build up his confidence.
The keeper has played twice in the Turkish Super Lig this season as Besiktas sit in fifth place in the table.
