City to pay Liverpool another £500,000 as part of Sterling deal

Liverpool are set to bank around £500,000 from Manchester City as part of their deal to sign Raheem Sterling from the Reds.

The London Evening Standard reports that the Premier League champions are closing in on another instalment of the £5 million in potential add-ons that they agreed to pay.

Manchester City paid an initial £44 million to sign the England star from the Anfield club and have since paid an extra £2.5 million in add-ons, with the Premier League title and his general development cited in the reasons behind the payments.

The next add-on is an appearance-based incentive, with Sterling needing just another seven Premier League starts before Liverpool are owed half a million from Manchester City.

It’s another payment that is a matter of when and not if, with Liverpool continuing to make money from the winger that they sold to the Premier League giants three years ago.
