Curtis Jones a doubt for Liverpool’s Youth League clash with PSG

Midfielder Curtis Jones is a major doubt for Liverpool’s UEFA Youth League clash with PSG on Wednesday afternoon after he picked up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with England Under-18s.

The 17-year-old was forced to watch Liverpool U23s’ win over Everton at Goodison Park from the sidelines and he is likely to miss the game in Paris too.

Having already ensured that they’ll qualify from their group, Liverpool are unlikely to risk Jones in the game and as such, he’ll be given time to rest and recover.

Barry Lewtas’ U19s side travel to Paris safe in the knowledge that qualification to the knockout stages is secure but a point in the French capital will ensure that they’ll finish top of Group C with a game to spare.

Jones has been a key contributor to Liverpool’s success at academy level this season so there’ll be no rush to get him back playing as the young Reds won’t want to see their star player get reinjured.
