Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Bild.
The 18-year-old’s future has been the topic of much discussion of late, with a move to Bayern Munich heavily mooted.
Hudson-Odoi is not expected to sign a new deal with Chelsea, with the lure of more regular first-team action in Germany appealing to the youngster.
Liverpool have now reportedly emerged as a shock rival to Bayern, however, who they face in the Champions League last-16 next month.
The Reds are rumoured to have held talks with Hudson-Odoi’s brother and agent, Ashley, earlier this month, with regards to a possible move to Anfield.
RB Leipzig are also in contention for the winger’s signature, although Bayern still appear to be the front-runners.
It would be a big blow to Chelsea if Liverpool were to swoop in, with losing a player to a direct rival never something to be pleased about.
The Blues are still keen to keep hold of one of England’s most promising players, but he seems to have decided that his future lies elsewhere.
