Keita says he knows how to hurt Bayern
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita believes he knows how to exploit Bayern Munich in the first leg of his side’s Champions League last 16 tie on Tuesday.
As reported by Goal, the Guinean stated that he knows how the German champions like to play and how to exploit their weaknesses from his time playing for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
The midfielder spent two years playing in Germany before moving to Liverpool in the summer and scored against Bayern last season.
Keita believes the Reds have a good knowledge of Tuesday’s opponents within their squad. He said:
I’m not the only expert in this regard – in Xherdan Shaqiri we even have an ex-Bayern player.
And of course our coach Jurgen Klopp knows all about them. But yes, I know about Bayern’s strengths and how to play against them.
The midfielder has featured 22 times for Liverpool this season following his move from Leipzig, and revealed he moved to Anfield to have the chance to win competitions like the Champions League.
I moved to Liverpool to win trophies. In the championship we are well in the race, and we have a chance in the Champions League. We are working hard to present one or the other trophy to the fans at the end of the season.
Keita will be determined to start when the Reds lock horns with Niko Kovac’s side, who have encountered struggles with inconsistency this term.
