Liverpool are one of the teams interested in signing Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to reports.

Portuguese outlet newspaper Correio da Manhã, via Sport Witness, claim that both AC Milan and Liverpool are interested in the 24-year-old, who could be available this summer.

Fernandes’ current deal at Sporting contains a release clause of €100m but he could be on the move for significantly less than that amount due to the financial issues facing the Portuguese side.

Sporting are reportedly asking for around €80m for the international midfielder but both Liverpool and Milan will be looking for a lower price.

Fernandes has scored 21 goals this season and has added an impressive 11 assists, so Sporting, despite their financial issues, won’t be keen to let him go on the cheap.

However, if the Portuguese side are willing to lower their demands a fraction, then Liverpool could be Fernandes’ next destination.
