Liverpool target Nicolas Tagliafico could complete a summer switch to Inter Milan.
The Reds have been linked with a swoop for the defender ahead of the upcoming transfer window as they look to strengthen their options on the left-hand side.
Alberto Moreno’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Ajax star appears to have been identified as a possible replacement to provide Andy Robertson with competition for his place.
However, Tagliafico’s agent has recently been flirting with the idea of a summer move to Inter, as speculation surrounding his client’s future continues to gather.
Speaking to FC Inter News, as cited in a report from Football Italia, the Argentina international’s representative Ricardo Schlieper said:
Inter and Italian football are always attractive destinations for Argentine players. Let’s not forget, like it was once said, that we’re Italians who speak Spanish. Everything’s very familiar. It’s like being at home.
Tagliafico has enjoyed an excellent season at Ajax. He has been an integral part of their Eredivisie campaign and has also starred in their run to the Champions League semi-finals, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will lock horns with Barcelona in the final four of Europe’s most illustrious club competition.
Other left-backs who Liverpool could consider signing
Gaya has long been an impressive player for Valencia, and he’d provide Robertson with an excellent competitor on the left.
Kelly has looked impressive for Bristol City this season. The England Under-21 international would be a good, long-term option at left-back.
Firpo’s displays up and down the left for Real Betis have certainly caught the eye this term, and he’d be a good signing.
Lewis has arguably been the Championship’s standout left-back this season. Although Norwich City are set to be promoted, a move to Liverpool would surely be of interest to the promising Northern Ireland international.
