Paul Glatzel could miss large chunk of pre-season
Liverpool forward Paul Glatzel has been dealt a cruel blow after Jurgen Klopp confirmed that he’d suffered what looks to be a serious injury.
Glatzel was part of the Liverpool team that took to the field for the second half of the Reds’ pre-season friendly on Thursday evening but he had to be taken off shortly after assisting Bobby Duncan’s goal.
Glatzel hobbled off after he fell awkwardly whilst attempting to close down the Tranmere goalkeeper and Liverpool were forced to send on substitute goalkeeper Daniel Atherton up front for the final 15 minutes of the 6-0 win at Prenton Park.
Speaking after the game, Klopp revealed that Glatzel’s injury did not look good and as such, he could miss a large portion of the pre-season.
The Liverpool-born teenager had been named as part of Liverpool’s touring squad for their upcoming tour of the USA but it looks like he’s been dealt a cruel blow just days before he was set to fly out to America.
