Liverpool have made an enquiry about the availability of Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to Yagız Sabuncuoglu, the Sports Correspondent of Turkish outlet Haber Global.

The 23-year-old, who made his debut for the Turkus national football team in a friendly against Greece back in May, is seen as one of the bright young talents in Europe and he’s also attracted the attention of French club Lille and Spanish side Celta Vigo.

Jurgen Klopp has already indicated that he does not want to let Simon Mignolet leave the club this summer but it’s inevitable that the Belgian will depart Anfield at some point in the next year or so and as such, it makes sense for the Reds to be looking at other options.

Alisson Becker looks set to be the Reds’ number one for years to come, but with Mignolet looking for a move and Loris Karius’ Liverpool career almost certainly over, Klopp will need a back-up for the Brazilian and it looks like Cakir is one of the options he’s considering.
