It wasn’t too long ago when Thomas Muller was seen as the main man at Bayern Munich, but that’s no longer the case.

The German star has found himself sat on the substitute’s bench for Bayern’s last five games and as such, BILD are reporting that he wants a transfer.

When discussing possible destinations for the 30-year-old, BILD journalist Christian Falk brought up that Liverpool were interested in the then German international back in 2017, as were Manchester United, perhaps hinting that there could be Premier League interest in the player when the transfer window opens.

We’ve seen in the past that Jurgen Klopp has been happy to wait for players he is keen to sign but time will tell if the Reds decide to reignite their interest in Muller.

There’s no doubting that Thomas Muller has had an excellent career so far, both for club and country.

However, it looks like he’s keen to leave the club he’s been at for nearly two decades in search of regular playing time and moving to Liverpool wouldn’t guarantee him that.

The Reds have arguably the best forward trio in the world and whilst Muller could provide depth in attack, there’s little chance of him taking a spot from Sadio Mane, Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino and as such, it’s difficult to envisage a scenario in which he becomes a Liverpool player.
