Liverpool send scouts to watch Porto’s Fabio Silva
According to the reliable ‘Scouts in Attendance‘ social media account, Liverpool sent scouts to watch FC Porto in action against Famalicao on Sunday afternoon, with the Reds seemingly interested in teenage forward Fabio Silva.
The 17-year-old hasn’t quite broken into the Porto starting XI just yet, but he has been on the bench for every league game they’ve played this season and just two minutes after coming on as a substitute against Famalicao, the 17-year-old scored to make it 3-0 to the home side.
Liverpool have a man with inside knowledge of Porto’s young players now employed at the club, which will give them some inside knowledge about the teenager.
The Reds hired former Porto youth coach Vitor Matos as their new elite development coach earlier this year, a role that was once held by Pep Lijnders, so he will know all about Silva.

Liverpool have been keen to recruit young players over the last few seasons, with the likes of Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg just two examples. If Matos knows Fabio Silva well and has recommended him, it makes sense for Liverpool to go and take a close look at the teenager as he could potentially be the next youngster to make the switch to Anfield.
