Liverpool allowing Borussia Dortmund to sign Milot Rashica could actually aid their quest to sign Jadon Sancho.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund are eyeing up a move for Rashica this summer, viewing him as a potential replacement for Sancho.

Interestingly, the Kosovo star has also been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days. The Reds should, in my opinion, ignore any attempts to sign him, however, instead seeing Dortmund’s acquisition of him as a positive.

This latest rumour suggests that Dortmund know that Sancho is on his way at the end of the season, following three years at the club.

The 19-year-old has been endlessly linked with Liverpool, but Premier League rivals Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are also thought to be in the hunt for his signature.

The Reds must do all they can to acquire Sancho’s services, considering the vast potential he has.

While some players are extremely raw at the age of 19, the England international is already looking something close to a finished product.

In 19 Bundesliga starts this season, Sancho has scored 13 goals and has registered as many assists – in 2018/19, he got 12 and 14, respectively.

This is a player who is already prodcuing in the final third and who has the ability to potentially become one of the most dangerous wide-attacking players in the world.

His rumoured £120 million price tag is admittedly vast, but considering that Liverpool could up to get a decade of play from him at the top, it could end up being a bargain, as has been the case with Virgil van Dijk’s mocked-at-the-time £75 million fee.

There is the issue of Sancho not playing every week at Anfield, however, which could act as a stumbling block. With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino expected to stay, and Timo Werner a possible addition, too, it may be that a certain amount of patience is required.

At United, I believe he would be a more indispensable figure immediately, because they lack the attacking firepower of Liverpool. This could appeal more to the player, which may work against the European champions.

Whatever happens, it looks set to be a fascinating battle for Sancho’s signature this summer, but allowing Rashica to join Dortmund could be the first positive step towards the Reds securing a wonderful young talent.
