Liverpool are hoping to complete a deal to sign Ozan Kabak before the January transfer window opens, according to RMC Sport, via This Is Anfield.
The 20-year-old Schalke centre-back has been linked with the Reds in the past, as Jurgen Klopp eyes up future defensive options.
The injury to Virgil van Dijk may have sped up that process, with Liverpool now keen on bolstering their defensive choices in January.
This latest report states that the Reds are preparing an offer for Kabak in the region of €30million-€40millio, with journalist Manuel Veth also saying on Twitter that he expects an offer to arrive.
Liverpool reportedly want the transfer sorted by January 1st, in order for the youngster to become an option straight away.

The Reds may have won both matches without Van Dijk, but there is no denying that an extra centre-back would help hugely.
Joel Matip is an injury-prone player who cannot be relied upon for long periods, while Fabinho is still essentially a midfielder playing out of position.
Kabak has the potential to be an excellent long-term signing Liverpool, enjoying a 91.1 percent pass completion rate for Schalke in the Bundesliga this season.
He is also winning an average of three aerial duels per game, suggesting he could help make up for the loss of the dominant Van Dijk in that area.
