Wolves boosted as Raul Jimenez provides injury update ahead of Liverpool clash

Wolves have received a potential boost, with Raul Jimenez saying he hopes to return to action in the near future.

The 29-year-old picked up a horrible head injury in Sunday’s 2-1 win away to Arsenal, suffering a fractured skull.

There were huge concerns surrounding Jimenez at the time, but thankfully, he underwent a successful operation.

As he recovers in hospital, the striker has spoken for the first time since the incident, taking to Twitter to say he is confident about being back on the pitch in the near future:

It would be a huge surprise if Jimenez is back for the Liverpool game on Sunday afternoon – almost impossible, in fact – but it is nice to hear that he is on the mend.

From a Reds perspective, the Mexican being unavailable is undoubtedly a positive, even though it clearly comes in sad circumstances.

He has been a superb performer for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, scoring 48 goals in 110 appearances, as well as registering 18 assists.

Wolves will still be a threat, however, with the likes Adama Traore, Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence formidable attacking players in their own right.
