Liverpool and Real Madrid are interested in signing Sevilla goalkeeper Alfonso Pastor, according to AS [via Sport Witness].

The 20-year-old made his Champions League debut for the La Liga side on Wednesday night, albeit in a losing cause at home to Chelsea, who won 4-0.

Pastor is an exciting prospect, however, and Liverpool are believed to be monitoring the situation at Sevilla.

Adrian’s current Reds deal expires at the end of this season, at which point Jurgen Klopp could look for a new backup to Alisson.

Real Madrid are also thought to be in the mix to sign Pastor, though, so Liverpool could face stiff competition for his signature.

I think the fact that Klopp picked Caoimhin Kelleher over Adrian against Ajax suggests the Spaniard’s time at Anfield is coming to an end.

Too often, he has spread nervousness throughout Liverpool’s defence with his performances – the 7-2 defeat away to Aston Villa is a good example – whereas Kelleher was an assured presence in midweek.

If the Reds did make a move for Pastor, the hope is that it wouldn’t immediately hamper Kelleher’s chances moving forward.

The youngster is an exciting talent in his own right, and on Tuesday’s evidence, he can do a good job when Alisson is unavailable.
