Jamie Carragher asks for fans to “forget our tribalism” in fight against European Super League

Yesterday saw Liverpool’s announcement of their involvement in the proposed European Super League.

The reaction has been hostile, with pundits, managers, and players all seemingly against the idea.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and James Milner were tasked with responding to questions about the game last night.

Following the club’s 1-1 draw with Leeds in the Premier League, the pair were asked their thoughts on the plans.

As expected, both Klopp and Milner were against the proposal without speaking to much on the matter.

Former Red Jamie Carragher also spoke about how he felt sickened by Liverpool’s inclusion yesterday.

However, the Sky Sports pundit tweeted this morning, that he believes if fans get together they can overturn the decision…

As Carragher states, he feels that fans can work together to stop this despite his initial feelings.

Yesterday’s edition of Monday Night Football saw numerous members of the footballing world take a stand.

Now, Carragher feels members of the footballing world should drop the rivalries and the tribalism to work together.

If fans and members of clubs can pull together to fight this, then change could happen overnight.

One of the main takeaways is Carragher’s call for fans to drop their differences – our game is under threat and we must work together to stop it.

The idea of a European Super League ruins the enjoyment and integrity of our sport, and it must be stopped.
