Jamie Carragher unsure FSG can return to Anfield

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has questioned whether owners Fenway Sports Group and John Henry, in particular, can return to Anfield to watch a match in the future following the Super League debacle.

The Reds were one of 12 founder clubs to be named as part of an attempted breakaway competition to rival the UEFA Champions League.

After widespread condemnation and opposition, Liverpool, along with the five other Premier League clubs involved have all since pulled out of the proposals and the fallout has now begun.

Carragher, who was steadfast in his opinion against the plans, has claimed the owners can’t return to the club after what has transpired.

FSG have been at the top of the club since the group took control back in 2010 after fellow Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett left with short shrift.

There remains a possibility the club or indeed the owners could still face sanctions following the ill-fated decision

READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT
