Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool’s £14.4m out-of-favour striker is ready to leave the club

It is likely that this summer will see a big change within Liverpool’s squad ahead of next season.

The Reds are in need of stronger depth in the team and reinforcements are already being brought in.

Last week saw the announcement of French defender Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig for £36m.

Plenty of other players have been named as possible striker replacements for Belgium Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Anfield for some time and it looks as though it may come true.

Yesterday, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano updated Liverpool fans of Origi’s current situation.

The Italian confirmed that the striker is ready to leave the club after almost seven years of service

As cited by AnfieldWatch above, Origi looks set to leave the club this summer.

It may not have been the most spectacular career at the club, but Origi has provided fans with some incredible memories.

He will no doubt be remembered for his part during the clubs Champions League winning campaign in 2018/19.

The Belgium scored twice in the club’s iconic 4-0 win over Barcelona in the semi-final.

This was then followed up by the winning goal against Tottenham in the final to give the club their sixth title.

With Origi now set to leave, the is reportedly already looking at plenty of replacements.

RB Salzburg’s Patson Daka is reportedly close to joining the Reds, with them also interested in Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović.

However the club choose to approach the situation, there is no denying that Origi has become a cult figure.

His contributions and those incredible moments in the Champions League will be remembered by fans for years to come.
