Liverpool midfielder confident of making £15m move to FC Porto this month

This summer will no doubt see some names leave Liverpool amid the clubs attempts to strengthen their depth.

It had been revealed that the club would be looking to sell players to further fund their transfer activity.

The Reds have limited finances this summer, and player sales will play a huge part in this over the next few months.

One of the individuals linked with a move away has been Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic.

Jurgen Klopp signed the 25-year-old back in 2016 when he was just 19 for a little over £6million.

However, the club are now prepared to allow Grujic to leave, with the Serbian confident of signing for FC Porto this month…

According to Football Insider, via Anfield Watch on Twitter, Grujic recently held talks with the Portuguese club.

Having spent last season on loan at Porto, Grujic managed to find himself as a regular towards the end of the season.

Liverpool have utilised Grujic very little over the five years that he has been at the club.

His time on Merseyside has been spent mostly on loan, with five different spells away from the Reds.

As the report states, Liverpool are holding out for around £15million to sell the midfielder.

FC Porto are trying to negotiate a lower fee, but it seems as though the club are holding firm on the valuation.

Having spent only £6million for Grujic, any kind of interest would be a good sale given his lack of game time.

It is a shame that his time at Liverpool didn’t quite go to plan given his potential back in 2016.

Hopefully, if Grujic does leave the Reds, he can finally get the game time and appreciation he deserves.
