Liverpool hit with £36m price tag if they hope to sign Euro 2020 wonderkid

Last night saw the final chapter of this year’s Euro 2020 tournament, with England losing out to Italy in the final.

The tournament produced some fantastic performances from a number of players across Europe.

One of which has caught the attention of a number of clubs after making a lasting impression for his country.

Denmark wonderkid Mikkel Damsgaard enjoyed a fantastic tournament with his county, scoring 2 goals with 1 assist.

His performances have led to Liverpool and Tottenham to show their interest in signing the 21-year-old.

As well as this, Juventus and Barcelona are also rumoured to be interested in the midfielder.

However, according to The Mirror, his parent club Sampdoria have set their asking price for Damsgaard.

The Serie A club are demanding £34million to secure the youngsters services this summer.

Damsgaard will no doubt be remembered by England fans for his fantatsic free-kick during the semi-finals.

The forward put the Danes infront againt the Three Lions, causing quite the scare at first.

It had been rumoured by that Damsgaard would be the perfect player for Klopp to start a future rebuild around.

His ability and age tick all the boxes for the Reds and FSG, but this summer a move seems unlikely.

Despite his mere market value of £11.7million, a fee of £34million may just be out of Liverpool’s price range.

The club are already operating on limited finances this summer and have strong interest in Ateltico Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñíguez.

The club had made a bid of £34million, only for the Spanish club to reject their offer.

Time will tell as to who Liverpool may sign in midfield this summer, but one thing for sure is there is plenty of talent to choose from.

matchday.
