Virals: Liverpool ‘throwing the kitchen sink’ at Mohamed Salah deal

So far this summer Liverpool have managed to tie down the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Fabinho.

Now the priorities would seem to lie at agreeing to new deals with captain Jordan Henderson and superstar forward Mohamed Salah.

The latter is perhaps the most important of all as regular speculation links the 29-year-old Egyptian with a sensational move away from Anfield.

According to a report from The Athletic, as cited by Anfield Effect on Twitter, the club are now ready to pull out all the stops to secure Salah as a Red for the long term.

The report claims that talks have been ‘productive’ and fellow teammates are now confident that the 68-cap ace wants to secure ‘legendary’ status at Anfield.

Salah made a superb start to the 2021/22 campaign last weekend with a goal and two assists in a 3-0 victory over Norwich City.

That form comes on the back of an extended summer break following a 31 goal season last time out.

Music to Kopites’ ears.

Whilst each and every contract renewal is important – especially in light of Gini Wijnaldum’s recent departure – few hold the weight of Salah.

Tying down the prolific winger throughout his peak years is a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp’s current squad as well as attracting incoming players.

As fit as ever before and showing no signs of slowing down, Liverpool will hope for many more seasons of their ‘Egyptian King’ running down the wing.
