Virals: Paris Saint-Germain fire sale links Julian Draxler to Liverpool

Liverpool could move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Julian Draxler as the French club plot a squad reduction.

Often linked with a move to the Reds in the past, the 27-year-old could be among those to leave following the arrival of Lionel Messi in the French capital.

The versatile forward occupies similar areas to the Argentine superstar and could see a further reduction in playing time this season.

According to The Express, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, Liverpool could swoop to bolster their own attacking options.

The 56 times capped German international is named alongside Thilo Kehrer, Layvin Kurzawa, Pablo Sarabia and Rafinha as the players that could move on before the end of the window.

Last season, Draxler scored four and assisted three other goals in 24 Ligue 1 outings.

The World Cup winner has made a bright start to this season whilst Messi prepares for action – netting in a 4-2 victory over Strasbourg.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 at the Parisian giants (Transfermarkt), the ace once hailed as ‘world class’ by Jens Keller could be available for an affordable fee.

Albeit predominantly a left-winger, Draxler is capable of playing across numerous attacking positions and would provide cover for multiple members of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

For the right price, Liverpool would be wise to monitor the German’s situation in the final two weeks of the window.

matchday.
