Liverpool’s £40m striker continues goalscoring form on international duty with header vs Azerbaijan

Liverpool have started their 2021/22 Premier League season well, with two wins and one draw.

The Reds will no doubt be hoping to continue this form after the international break with them facing Leeds.

Throughout the past week, Liverpool’s squad have been carrying on their form for their national teams.

Last night was no exception, with Portugal facing Azerbaijan in their third and final World Cup Qualifier.

A Seleção won the game 3-0, with Liverpool forward Diogo Jota getting himself on the score sheet.

As tweeted by Sky Sports below, Jota rounded off the game with a fantastic header to carry on his goalscoring form…

Jota has started the season incredibly well with two goals from three games in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old netted in the club’s first two games of the season against Norwich and Burnley.

However, he did not start against Chelsea, with him ultimately missing out on making it three from three.

It is great to see him continuing his form on the international stage, especially with the league resuming this weekend.

Liverpool paid £40million to bring Jota to Anfield last summer, with him becoming a real surprise signing.

Despite the speculation over how he may perform, Jota has been a revelation and become an integral part of the club’s attack.

Hopefully, this run of form will carry on for the Reds this weekend, with them facing Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday.
