Liverpool are believed to have ‘set their sights’ on AC Milan central midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old previously but any hopes of a deal seemed to be off when the Ivorian opened contract negotiations at the San Siro.
However, as those talks stall over wage demands, Liverpool, along with Premier League rivals Tottenham, could look to swoop.
That’s according to a report from Il Milanista, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter, claiming the Anfield club have Kessie on their radar.

The report claims that Milan are open to receiving offers from big clubs as the 44 times capped ace sets a high salary request.
Somewhat bizarrely, the report adds that officials in Italy would consider a ‘crazy proposal’ involving Reds’ midfielder Thiago heading in the opposite direction in January.
Kessie is yet to feature this season due to a muscle problem but was a leading star last term, scoring 13 goals and adding six assists in 37 Serie A outings.

Valued at a staggering £49.5million and in the final 12 months of a deal at the San Siro (Transfermarkt), Liverpool’s interest comes as little surprise as the club sniffs out a bargain.
Predominantly a box to box midfielder, Kessie would in many ways be the ideal candidate to replace Gini Wijnaldum at Anfield.
Whilst Thiago’s arrival from Bayern Munich hasn’t yet been an unbridled success, the suggestion of allowing the Spaniard to leave seems highly fanciful.
Kopites may have the opportunity to get a closer look at the Ivorian when AC head to Merseyside next week, albeit more likely the second clash will see two meet.
