Ian Wright lavishes praise on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Former Premier League striker Ian Wright has joined the dozens of pundits to lavish praise on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

The 29-year-old Egyptian has started the 2021/22 season like a man possessed and has played a huge role in maintaining the Reds’ unbeaten opening.

Already three clear at the summit of the Premier League goalscoring charts, Salah is on track to break even more records this term.

Speaking on Seaman Says Podcast this week, Wright – who turns 58 today – claimed that the Liverpool man is currently operating at the pinnacle of football.

For me, you can’t look further than Mo Salah. He’s the best player in the world at the moment for me. He’s so good he’s back to that form from when he first got here where everything he touches is turning to gold. That second goal where he put it to the near post of David De Gea, I’m usually going across goal with that, but he’s in such scintillating form.

In a remarkable debut 2017/18 campaign, Salah netted 32 league goals, setting a new record for most goals in a 38-game English top-flight season.

So far this term the 71-cap star has found the back of the net a staggering 15 times in 13 appearances across all competitions, also providing six assists for teammates.

Whether or not Salah is indeed the best around at the moment is up for debate, however, Kopites will simply be grateful if the Egyptian King continues to produce for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool may turn to their £90million valued superstar tonight (Wednesday, November 3) as the Reds welcome a stubborn Atletico Madrid side to Anfield.

Klopp’s men could qualify out of Group B if they avoid defeat against the La Liga champions with two games to spare.
