James Pearce reiterates Liverpool interest in ‘outstanding’ Jarrod Bowen

Reputable journalist James Pearce has once again reiterated the Liverpool interest in West Ham star Jarrod Bowen

This comes after the versatile forward terrorised the Reds in the build-up to the second goal at the London Stadium on Sunday.

In the aftermath of the contrast in east London, Pearce was answering questions on The Athletic’s Q&A platform and was adamant about the admiration from Merseyside.

We revealed back in the summer that Bowen was on LFC’s shortlist for attacking targets. I can see why given his outstanding form so far this season. There’s certainly interest but that’s as far as it goes currently. He’s on a long contract. One to keep an eye on.

Meanwhile, a report from football.london, as cited by Anfield Edition on Twitter, has reported that the club’s previous £40million valuation of the 24-year-old has ‘risen significantly’ in recent months.

This season Bowen, who Jurgen Klopp himself confirmed he ‘liked a lot’ prior to the clash, has scored three times and provided five assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

When initially linked in the summer the possible move for Bowen wasn’t without its detractors from the Liverpool fanbase.

However, having witnessed Bowen’s influence first hand on Sunday and watching the development of the ex-Hull City man overall this term, even the most ardent scoffer must be turning.

Possessing strong attacking attributes as well as an unparalleled willingness to work hard for the side, it’s easy to see why Klopp would be an admirer.

Valued at £25million and under contract until 2025 (Transfermarkt), the mooted above £40million fee for the Englishman would be worth every penny at present.
