Liverpool are reportedly ‘ready’ to make a contract offer to Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic

The Reds are believed to be preparing a deal to sign the 28-year-old as a free agent when his contract expires next summer.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen on the Croatia international who continues to play a leading role for both club and country.

According to a report from Sportmediaset, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, the Anfield club are willing to offer up to €8million (£6.8million) per year.

The report claims that the 68-cap ace’s future at the San Siro remains in the balance as the European elite circle.

This season Brozovic has earned a 7.13 average Sofascore rating from 12 Serie A outings – higher than his positional rival Fabinho’s 6.83 rating

A vastly experienced operator, signing the Croatian would provide much needed additional strength in depth to the midfield department.

Predominantly a defensive-minded player, Brozovic would act as strong competition and cover to Fabinho whilst also allowing Jurgen Klopp to change shape more freely.

Valued at £36million (Transfermarkt), Liverpool would be pulling off a fantastically shrewd piece of business sin landing the Inter star for nothing.
