Virals: Liverpool ‘following’ Olympiacos star Aguibou Camara

Liverpool are reportedly ‘following’ Olympiacos attacking midfielder Aguibou Camara.

The Reds have been linked with the 20-year-old extensively in recent months and are believed to be joined in their admiration of the Guinean by Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Lille.

Camara played 45 minutes against Belgian side Royal Antwerp this week and it’s reported that the Anfield club had representatives in attendance.

That’s according to SportTime editor in chief Giannis Chorianopoulous on Twitter.

Signed from Lille in the summer, Camara has scored five times and provided two assists in 21 appearances for the Greek club.

In that period the nine-times capped starlet and international teammate of Naby Keita has earned an impressive 7.08 average Sofascore rating from six Europa League outings.

Valued at £2.7million and under contract in Greece until 2025 (Transfermarkt), Liverpool would almost certainly have the pull and financial wherewithal to land Camara at almost any given point.

Despite boasting a wealth of midfield options currently, an additional younger star would be a welcome boost as James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Thiago are all over 30.

Owing to the pre-existing relationship between the two clubs following the transfer of Kostas Tsimikas, the Reds may be confident of striking a deal for the talented youngster.

Capable of playing in a variety of positions, Camara would represent a viable option to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

matchday.
