Liverpool have a good record at St Mary’s over the last couple of years, and that is going to have to continue if the Reds are going to carry on with their pursuit of a place in the top four of the Barclays Premier League.
The last three times the Merseyside club have faced Southampton away from home, Liverpool have emerged victorious.
Two of those wins came in the league, and one came earlier this season in the Capital One Cup, when the Reds hit the Saints for six.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be buoyant heading into Sunday, having just dispatched Manchester United in the Europa League, as well as triumphing in their last three Premier League outings against Aston Villa, Manchester City and Crystal Palace respectively.
The Reds have been dealt a late injury blow ahead of their trip to the South Coast, with in-form forward Roberto Firmino picking up a knock.
But there should be enough in this side for Liverpool to have a real go at securing another three points. Here’s how I think they will line up:
