Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is ready to sign a new contract at the club, one that will keep him at Anfield until 2021, claims Kristof Terreur from Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.

The Belgian joined the Reds from Sunderland in 2013 for a fee of around £9m, and was part of Brendan Rodgers’ side that came close to winning the Premier League title.

Despite a decent start to his Liverpool career, Mignolet has made some high-profile mistakes and it was thought that Jurgen Klopp was looking to replace him, with Timo Horn, Marc-André ter Stegen and Steve Mandanda all linked with a move to Merseyside.
However, it appears that those were just rumours and that Klopp has faith in Mignolet as his number one for the next few years.
Liverpool recently recalled Danny Ward from his loan at Aberdeen, but it appears that he was brought in to challenge Adam Bogdan for the number two spot behind Mignolet.
