March was by no means the perfect month for Liverpool, but progress in the Europa League at the expense of Manchester United was sweet and six points from a possible nine isn’t to be sniffed at.
Daniel Sturridge is still fit, the centre-back pairing of Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho is looking better than it previously had done, Emre Can is emerging as a real star in midfield, and there are plenty of other things to be excited about.
That said, Liverpool’s failure to see out the game against Southampton on March 20 has left supporters slightly down in the dumps, and they will have to kick April off with a win against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur if their top four hopes are to remain in tact.
