Nabil Fekir had reportedly picked out his shirt number to wear Liverpool moments before his move to Anfield collapsed.
According to L’Equipe, as cited by the Daily Star, the number 10 shirt was considered as an option, showing just how close the player was to completing a switch to Anfield.
Fekir’s potential move to Liverpool has been one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window so far.
A deal to bring the French international from Lyon to Liverpool appeared all-but done, with images being leaked online of the player in a Reds kit.
However, the deal fell through in the final moments, with several conflicting reports suggesting the club were unhappy with the results of the player’s medical.

Reports in France say Liverpool were keen to renegotiate the deal after discovering the player’s injury.
The player is still believed to be in Liverpool’s sights and could well end up at Anfield when all is said and done this summer.
