Adam Lewis agrees new Liverpool Contract

Liverpool left-back Adam Lewis has agreed a new deal with the club, as reported by Sky Sports.

The 19-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the senior team but has been a regular for the U23 side.

Lewis has made 15 appearances in the current Premier League 2 season, registering four assists in the process.

The teenager has also appeared for England at both U19 and U20 levels, even featuring for the under 19s at the 2018 European Championships.

There was reported interest in Lewis in January from Rangers, managed by Steven Gerrard, and Newcastle United but both failed to complete any deal.

Lewis was captain of the U18s while Gerrard was in charge which is a huge compliment in itself.

With Andy Robertson the undisputed first-choice left back for manager Jurgen Klopp and Alberto Moreno acting as back-up, there has been little room for Lewis to feature in the first-team.

However, Moreno’s contract is up in the summer with it appearing unlikely that the Spaniard will sign a new deal himself.

This gives Lewis an opportunity to stake his claim to play his part in the side and for the Reds not to buy a replacement left-back.

The Englishman can play anywhere down the left side of the pitch, also featuring in midfield and his versatility could prove useful in the coming years.
