Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye has confirmed his desire to leave Anfield in the summer.
Speaking about his future to Voetbalzone, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, the former Barcelona youngster revealed he will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Giving his reasons, Adekanye cites the lack of trust between himself and the club.
If they promise such things and it doesn’t happen, I don’t know what will happen if I sign for three years. That confidence is no longer there, even though I still greatly respect the club. They don’t just extend for three years, so maybe there was a schedule behind it.
But I no longer have faith in that. In terms of money, things are fine, but you have nothing if there is no perspective behind it. Money will come later, I now need playing minutes.
Lazio are being heavily linked with a move for the player and they could now go on to seal a deal.
While Adekanye has been on the fringes of the first-team squad at Anfield, it is hard to see where regular game time will come for the player.
It is well known that Jurgen Klopp is very dependent on his front three and as a result, there is only going to be limited football available when one of them is not available, something Xherdan Shaqiri has learnt the hard way
