Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold has been hailed as a ‘massive talent’ and the ‘best right-back in the Premier League’ by top-flight record holder Alan Shearer.
The 22-year-old has come under scrutiny this season having dipped below his astronomically high levels from previous campaigns, leading to the right-back being omitted from a recent England squad.
However, Shearer told the Premier League YouTube channel that the West Derby born superstar remains among the elite performers in the competition.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, already a Premier League winner. In my opinion the best right-back in the country. He’s not hit the heights of last season when Liverpool won the title, but he’s still a massive talent thanks to his pace, transitional play, and ability to put exceptional crosses into the box. Look at this moment against Man City, one of his trademark crosses from deep, it’s a skill he perfected last term.
Alexander-Arnold has already played a major part in accumulating four of the games elite trophies – his 13 Premier League assists last term a major attacking weapon in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Despite the slight decline in form this season, to leave out a player of Alexander-Anrold’as ability and proven quality remains a glaring omission.
Clearly, Shearer believes the full-back is still worthy of his place among the national team at the very least.
