Barcelona could sell reported Liverpool target Dembele in January

Ousmane Dembele could be allowed to leave Barcelona in the January transfer window, according to Marca.

Liverpool were linked with a season-long loan move last month, but a deal didn’t come to fruition.

Instead, Dembele stayed put at the Nou Camp, but he doesn’t appear to be part of Ronald Koeman’s plans.

Barca want him to sign a new deal, however, in order to up the asking price in January.

I don’t think Dembele is worth the hassle at Liverpool, despite his undoubted natural ability.

The 23-year-old hasn’t kicked on at all at Barca, with form and injuries both playing a part. He managed just three starts in La Liga last season.

Question marks have also been raised over Dembele’s attitude, including gaining a reputation for turning up late on international duty with France.

Jurgen Klopp has created a wonderful team spirit at Liverpool and he doesn’t need a potential rotten apple coming in and disrupting it.

If Dembele was delivering sensational performances every week then it would arguably be worth the risk, but that isn’t the case at all.

matchday.
