Bradley Barcola makes transfer confession after claims Liverpool want him

Liverpool have long been linked with a move for Bradley Barcola, who is currently with the France squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is a wanted man this summer, with Arsenal are keeping tabs on him.

If Barcola is in the market, it goes without saying that some of the best clubs in Europe will be in the running for his signature.

And now, we’ve heard it from the horse’s mouth as the young attacker has made an interesting claim about his future.

Barcola refuses to play down PSG departure

Barcola is a key player for club and country and his record over the past two seasons are impressive, to say the least.

However, he is behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue in the pecking order, while PSG’s interest in Yan Diomande – a one-time Liverpool target – would push him further down Luis Enrique’s squad.

It’s not to say Barcola won’t get any game time for PSG, but a player of his quality deserves to play week in and week out.

And speaking to RMC Sport, the PSG forward refused to pour cold water over claims of a potential transfer this month.

When quizzed about his future, Barcola said, “I am focused on the World Cup, what will happen after that, I don’t know.”

Arsenal and Liverpool’s interest is well-documented. However, France are expected to enjoy a deep World Cup run, so his future is unlikely to be decided anytime soon.

Barcola is the man for Liverpool

While he’s predominantly a left-winger, the Frenchman is also capable of playing on the right flank, making him an intriguing multi-faceted option for the Reds.

However, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Barcola will cost over £100m. That isn’t necessarily a stumbling block, but Liverpool need to think twice before committing such a massive fee on one player, as they have other transfer priorities.

In terms of his skill set, profile, and pedigree, though, the Reds won’t find a better attacker than Barcola this summer if he becomes available.

The Frenchman has already scored twice at the World Cup and is set to play a major role in the knockout stages as Didier Deschamps’ side prepare to take on Paraguay in the Round of 16.

Time will tell if Liverpool launch a move for Barcola, but his recent comments prove that he hasn’t completely closed the door on a transfer this summer.
