Carragher offers advice to ‘selfish and greedy’ Salah

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has labelled Mohamed Salah’s performance in Sunday’s 2-1 win at Fulham as “selfish and greedy.”

Sadio Mane’s first-half opener made it seem like it was going to be an easy day for Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League title-chasers.

However, that wasn’t the case as ex-Red Ryan Babel took advantage of a rare mix-up between Alisson and Virgil van Dijk 20 minutes from time to equalise before James Milner sealed three points from the penalty spot late on.

Liverpool should’ve killed the game off before such a messy ending though, and Carragher told Sky Sports, as cited by TEAMtalk, after full-time he was disappointing with Salah’s showing.

He has been selfish and greedy, no doubt. His record for Liverpool has been outstanding in the Premier League – scoring and creating goals. Nobody has been involved in more goals this season he’s been a constant threat. But two or three times today he’s got to get his head up and see what’s around him.

Salah has, indeed, been outstanding once again this season, scoring 17 goals in the Premier League and 20 in all competitions, and providing nine league assists.

The Reds go into the international break one point clear of Manchester City in the title race, but the reigning champions have a game in hand.

It promises to be a thrilling run-in.
